Quick Culture for Kids is a fun private guided art museum tour designed for children ages 6 - 12 but enjoyed by all ages. This one hour intimate and interactive tour will introduce your children to the elements of art. By mixing fun and facts with style, we will create a cultural adventure. We all know how an art museum visit may seem boring to a child. Not anymore with QUICK CULTURE! By contrast, we transform the typically overwhelming museum experience into an entertaining artistic journey. We engage children in interactive conversations about how to look at and what to look for directly from a variety of artworks. We’re different because we don’t lecture or use audio guides that only deliver facts! We find these taped narratives to be superficial and a bit dull. We believe in small groups that personalize each child’s experience. Our Art Guides are museum trained to spark intimate thought-provoking dialogue with children. By engaging in one-on-one conversation, children discover how art plays a part in their everyday lives. Another way that we personalize our tours is by the use of props. Handling different sizes of paintbrushes, examining a mold used to make sculpture and manipulating a color wheel may be among the many tools we use for each child to get an exciting hands-on experience. Our skilled Art Guide team has toured over 500 children; their credo being "We are committed to ensuring that art is a fundamental part of the lives of all children. All children must be accompanied by at least one adult over the age of 18. Each adult may bring one to six children.
* This does not include the adult museum admission fee of $12.50. Members & children are free. ** This price is for 2—8 people of your choice & does not include the adult museum admission fee of $12.50. Make your child a Next Gen member of LACMA and they can bring along one adult for free. Fill out this form and fax it or bring it with you to LACMA.
Cancellation policy: No cash refunds. Four hours advance notice required to receive a credit for a future tour. Less than 4 hours, there will be no refund or credit. Twenty-four hour notice is required for private tours.
